The 5 days in North Morocco tour starts with a pick up from Casablanca Mohammed V Airport. Firstly, we’ll visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque (210m). Afterwards, we depart for the imperial city of Meknes.
Moulay Ismail established the first Arab dynasty in Meknes, which includes the Bab Mansour, the gateway to Moulay Ismail Palace. This brings us to the Henri es-Souani, the horse stables and granaries. Upstairs, there’s a rooftop garden and cafe with a beautiful city view. After that, we continue to in Fes and check into your hotel.
A truly historic day is about to begin. Meet your local tour guide and begin your full day of exploring. The golden Palace Gates are a good place to start. Then, go to the Borj Sud to see an amazing view of the Medina. Finally, stop by the pottery factor to see what the locals make by hand.
Following a leisurely lunch, you will continue to walk around the Medina with your guide and see old holy sites. There is the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, and the Nejjarine Museum. Find out about the tanneries and traditional craft shops. This includes the University of Al Quaraouiyine. The tour of the city is over, and you’ll be spending the night at the Riad.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Fes and head to Chefchaouen via the Volubilis Ruins. Volubilis is home to the famed Roman ruins that remain from the Roman Empire’s southernmost frontier. One delves into the enchanting landscapes of Morocco, traversing the rugged terrain of the Rif Mountains. Once we arrive make a leisure stroll at Medina and its surroundings to discover this charming, blue-washed town. Overnight stay in a lovely Riad in the Medina.
After breakfast, feel free to have a last stroll on the blue-painted streets before heading to Rabat and enjoying the Moroccan countryside via Ouazzane. Rabat is known as the true capital of the Moroccan Kingdom. Rabat is the only coastal imperial city in Morocco where you can still visit: the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Tower of Hassan among others. Overnight in a hotel.
